The Walkthrough: Step-by-Step

The Arrival

When you arrive at our High Street clinic, you’ll be greeted by our front desk team. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early to relax and complete any final paperwork. The vibe here is calm and comfortable – grab some water, sit back, and breathe. To save time, you can fill out the form online here

You aren’t just a set of teeth to us. Your appointment starts with a chat. We want to know:

Are you anxious about dental treatment?

Comprehensive exam & X-rays

We take a close look at your teeth, gums, and jaw. Oral cancer screen. To see what’s happening beneath the surface, we usually take digital x-rays (which are low-radiation and instant). We also use an intra-oral camera to show you photos of your teeth on a screen, so you can see exactly what we see.

The Scale and clean (Prophylaxis)

If time and gum health permit, we will perform a professional clean. We gently remove plaque and tartar build-up to leave your teeth feeling fresh and smooth. We finish with a fluoride treatment to strengthen your enamel.

The Plan

No secrets. No surprises. If we find any issues, we will create a tailored treatment plan for you. We explain the priority of treatment, the costs involved, and your payment options before you commit to anything.

Medical History

A list of any medications you are currently taking.

Private Health Card

If you have insurance, bring your physical card or digital wallet (we have HICAPS for on-the-spot claiming).

Medicare Card

Essential for children eligible for the CDBS scheme.

Previous Records

If you have recent x-rays from another dentist, let us know beforehand—we may be able to have them transferred to save you taking new ones.

How long will the first appointment take?

Please allow approximately 45 minutes. We don’t like to rush new patients; this gives us enough time for a thorough exam, x-rays, a clean, and a proper chat.

I’m really nervous. Can you help?

Absolutely. Please tell us when you book! We are experienced with anxious patients. We can take breaks whenever you need, explain every step, or discuss sedation options like the green whistle (on request).

Is there parking nearby?

Yes. There is street parking available along High Street and surrounding side streets. However, Northcote is busy! We suggest leaving a little extra time to find a spot.
